DJ sNaKe the snake!

Hello friends! I have thought about blogging and writing more to share my thoughts and experiences in the music industry and thought this would be a strong first post. For those of you that do not know me, I am just a regular DJ guy that loves playing music for the love of music. I run a show called “3dektek” which airs on Digitally Imported Radio every Friday. It’s been a wild ride and I have met so many great people as a result of music, I have the most amazing friends and family and fans that support me in my passion for creating and sharing.

With a very relaxed open attitude like that, there are always risks of people attempting to take credit for your work. I have thought about throwing voiceovers randomly throughout a set, but that seriously interrupts the flow of music in my opinion, so it’s not something I have given serious thought to. I love to say hello to everyone before I get started on the mic, but that has been the extent of it.

This morning I received an email from a youtube user with a heads up. It reads as follows:

Now this doesn’t really upset me all that much, it’s happened before and it will happen again, it’s the nature of people attempting to take short cuts. Let’s take a look here at the situation before our friend Dj SNaKe takes the video down in embarrassment.

This April promo set was posted on April 6, 2013, take a look in the video description for the tracklist.

I listened to it and yep, its 3dt 112 but with the intro cut out and the addition of a ton of really really shitty effects. He took plenty of time to cut out little bits and bobs of my style, which doesn’t make sense from how little attempt he made at hiding it was my set once posting it.

I went and listened to a few of his other sets, and the two others I listened to are also 3dektek’s, but I have done so many of them now I can’t recall what # they are.
